Opening and Closing Ceremonies

What is Opening and Closing Ceremonies?

At the beginning of each FFA meeting the officer team gets in position and each say their parts of a script called the Opening Ceremony. During the meeting they go through any business that needs deciding upon. At the end they finish the meeting with the Closing Ceremony. FFA has competitions in each state and region for these opening and closing ceremonies teams. These teams consist of 8th and 9th graders only. There are 6 members to a team with an advisor and the availability of an alternate. The Opening and Closing Ceremony competitions are based on memorization and pronunciation.

How can I get involved?

The Bixby FFA OC team will be set towards the end of September each year. You must be in 8th or 9th grade to join the team. You will memorize the office you want and tryout for that position. The 2022 OC team has already been set. However, you can talk to Mr. Nettles about joining next year!
